At the end of June 2022, Northbridge Industrial Services Plc changed its name to Crestchic Plc. The change is a testament to the ongoing success of the Crestchic group.

Crestchic, the specialist manufacturer of load banks and power load testing equipment, was first founded in 1983. Following a period of sustained growth, the company was acquired by Northbridge PLC in 2006. In addition to Crestchic, the Northbridge portfolio included Tasman Oil Tools, which was sold in February 2022.

Peter Harris, Executive Chairman of Crestchic Plc, commented: “The name change from Northbridge to Crestchic reflects the future direction of the business. Our full focus is on our strong, international brand, Crestchic, which manufacturers, sells, and rents out load banks that are used for commissioning, testing, and operating electrical power generation. The worldwide market for load banks is growing apace thanks to global market trends, with no signs of slowing down. The Crestchic arm of the business has grown organically in response to this increased demand, with significant investment in both our people and our infrastructure  We are very excited about the future of the business – our ongoing investment and recent name change reflects that optimism.”

The change coincides with a wider strategic expansion programme for Crestchic, in the UK, US, Europe and beyond. The business has recently made a significant investment in the UK manufacturing facilities, increasing its capacity by 60%, as well as opening new premises in the US and Europe. Crestchic currently operates in the UK, USA, Germany, France, Benelux, UAE, Singapore, China, and Japan.
