Pink Loadbanks
Last February, two very special load banks caused quite a stir on our factory floor. They were a pair of 30ft containerised 6,250kVA, 690/450V, 60Hz units, built to order and finished in bright pink.
Each unit passed a 100% load test here in the UK. Now they’ve reached their new home at a shipyard in Taiwan, more than 6,000 miles away. They join the shipyard’s growing fleet of Crestchic load banks and will be used to test vessels.
So why pink? When we asked, the shipyard said it simply makes people happy to be around the load bank. We can’t argue with that!
In the photo, export sales team members Tyne Davis and Daryl Robinson are pictured with Vincent, our local agent, and the customer’s team. The weather didn’t help. During the visit they experienced a typhoon, then flooding, and an earthquake on top of that.
Eagle-eyed followers might also spot one of our orange load banks in the background, supplied to the same customer in 2017. Clearly this customer likes colourful kit 🧡
